Valerie Harper, who’s battling terminal brain cancer and was told in January that she only had a few months to live, is “pretty close to a remission,” says her doctor, Jeremy Rudnick, noting, “It defies the odds.”

The “Rhoda” star and Dr. Rudnick taped an interview with Meredith Vieira that ran on the “Today Show” on Thursday.

The doctor, however, was quick to point out that “at anytime this can change,” and it’s “not a matter of if… it’s a matter of when” for Harper, who has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare condition in which cancer cells spread into the membrane surrounding the brain.

Harper, who reportedly will be joining this season’s “Dancing with the Stars,” told Vieira, “We’re all going to die, but because I have a finite time — or have been told so by my doctors — I just want to live every moment to the fullest.”

Valerie Harper is reportedly going “Dancing with the Stars.”

The beloved actress, who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, will compete on the show’s new season and has already been practicing with pro partner Tristan MacManus, according to TMZ.

When Harper went public with her cancer fight back in March, she said that doctors had given her three months to live.

She’s battling leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare condition in which cancer cells spread into the membrane surrounding the brain.

But Harper is said to be in good enough physical condition to compete on “Dancing with the Stars,” despite her health crisis.

TMZ and other outlets are reporting that other “DWTS” contestants will include Snooki, Leah Remini, Elizabeth Berkley, and Christina Milian.

ABC has not confirmed any cast members for the upcoming season.

Gossip Cop has reached out for confirmation about the rumored celeb dancers and will update.
