Tom Hanks Reveals He Has Type 2 Diabetes on Late Show with David Letterman

Tom Hanks revealed that he has Type 2 diabetes on Monday’s “Late Show with David Letterman.”

“I went to the doctor and he said ‘You know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been dealing with since you were 36? Well, you’ve graduated! You’ve got type 2 diabetes, young man,’” said Hanks.

He told Letterman that his doctor informed him that if Hanks could drop back down to his high school weight, he’d be “completely healthy” and “not have Type 2 diabetes” anymore.

Hanks told the physician, “Well, I’m gonna have Type 2 diabetes, because there is no way I can weigh as much as I did in high school… I weighed 96 pounds in high school.”

Tom Hanks Films Himself Getting “Bloody” Elbow Procedure — WATCH HERE!

Tom Hanks has made a personal movie for his fans, but squeamish viewers might want to stay away.

The Oscar winner filmed himself getting a “fascinating medical procedure” on Thursday, where a doctor drained his swollen elbow.

The video, posted on his WhoSay account, features the doc using syringes to drain a “bloody” liquid, as Hanks provides amusing commentary.

For the record, Hanks says he was suffering from bursitis, an inflammation of fluid near the joints.

Check out the video below, but heed the actor’s warning: It’s “not for the faint of heart.”
