“Amy Poehler & Tina Fey Inked Multi-Million Dollar Deals To Host Golden Globes… Each!” screams a misguided RadarOnline report.
According to the webloid, “They are each being paid more than any Oscar host in history with the exception of Billy Crystal.”
The blog quotes a so-called “production source” as saying that while Crystal received $5 million for hosting the 2012 Oscars, the “standard first timer pay for the likes of Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, and Seth MacFarlane is closer to $2 million,” but Poehler and Fey will be making way more.
RadarOnline’s supposed “insider” says the two comediennes “basically saw how desperate NBC was for their help and decided to take them for a ride.”
Actually, it seems like the webloid was taken for a ride by its ill-informed source.
And so was Vanity Fair, which not only regurgitated the erroneous report but also added more inaccuracies, including claiming Poehler and Fey were being paid $4 million each for hosting the Golden Globes.
It’s all WRONG.
Gossip Cop is told by a source close to the situation that Fey and Poehler are not making anything “remotely” like those figures, and that any claim of them even making seven figures is “not true.”
