Restless Road made a big comeback in the final round of the semifinals on Wednesday’s “X Factor.”

After underwhelming most of the judges with their first two performances, the country trio received a standing ovation for their version of “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes.

Kelly Rowland said afterward, “Can I be honest? While you were performing that song, I was actually sitting here going, ‘They’re singing to me! It’s so cute!’ because, first of all, I was not expecting Zach and Andrew’s vocals to be incredibly on point.”

“And then Colton came at the end and gave me this incredible riff with a cherry on top,” said the singer.

Demi Lovato declared, “This was comfortable. This was confident. This is what you guys need to do.”

“I think you honestly just saved yourselves,” she went on. “This is mainstream. This is incredible.”

And Paulina Rubio exclaimed, “Finally you guys did an amazing vocal together when you blend, when each one of you had your own voice, and at the same time together as a group.”

She added, “Four months is little time [for] such an amazing improvement. Congratulations.”

And mentor Simon Cowell said his group “saved the best til last.”

“This is exactly the kind of record you should make,” he told them. “And what’s really impressive is how you’ve worked together to support each other.”

Earlier in the show, the act performed “That’s My Kind of Night” by Luke Bryan and collaborated with Jeff Gutt on “Every Breath You Take.”

X Factor Top 4 Revealed After Surprising Double Elimination — See Results!

“The X Factor” has its Top 4!

The season 3 semifinalists were unveiled during Thursday’s dramatic results show, where two acts disappointingly got the boot.

Ellona Santiago was immediately eliminated after it was revealed she scored the lowest amount of votes, prompting mentor Demi Lovato to exclaim, “This is ridiculous!”

“I’m actually really speechless and disappointed,” Lovato said, adding that Santiago now joins other ill-fated contestants this season that shockingly went home.

Later, the next lowest vote-getters, Rion Paige and Carlito Olivero, had to sing in a “final showdown” (each for the second time this season) to determine who would get to stay in the competition — and who would be sent home.

Paige performed “The House That Built Me” by Miranda Lambert, followed by Olivero performing “You Make Me Wanna” by Usher.

Lovato, Paige’s mentor, kicked off the deliberations, voting to cut Olivero, while his coach Paulina Rubio voted for Paige to go.

Kelly Rowland voted to send home Paige for the second week in a row, leaving the final decision in the hands of Simon Cowell.

And his vote for Paige made her ouster official, with the music mogul saying he believed Olivero needed this chance more than the 13-year-old.

Santiago and Paige’s double elimination means Lovato no longer has any contestants left in the competition, despite starting with a few early standouts.
