BOX OFFICE
Jack the Giant Slayer debuted at the top of another relatively weak box office weekend.
The fantasy adventure, starring Nicholas Hoult, earned $26 million for first place.
That was enough to comfortably put it ahead of second position finisher Identity Thief, which had $9.6 million in ticket sales.
Nabbing third was 21 & Over, which had a take of $9.1 million.
The Last Exorcism Part II and Dwayne Johnson’s Snitch came in fourth and fifth places with $7.9 million and $7.5 million, respectively.
Rounding out the Top 10 were the animated Escape From Planet Earth ($6.7 million), Safe Haven ($6.2 million), the Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook ($5.8 million), A Good Day to Die Hard ($4.5 million), and the sci-fi thriller Dark Skies ($3.5 million).
