“I was mad,” Raymond says of her reaction upon learning about little Usher Raymond V’s near drowning while at her ex’s house. “How did this happen? Who was watching him? Why was my son underwater for nearly three minutes?”

She says that Usher was the one to call her and tell her about the incident, and that the scary situation brought back memories of the tragic death of Raymond’s 11-year-old son Kile last year following a jet ski accident.

Raymond recalls thinking, “I’ve had this call before.”

While she doesn’t “blame” Usher for what happened, Raymond explains, “I was angry that it happened on his watch,” adding that her children have never been hurt while she was monitoring them.

Asked what she wants from her continuing custody battle, Raymond says, “I would like to have my first right of refusal, which means when he is not present, the kids come home to their mom.”

She acknowledges that the media has portrayed her as “bad, hell on wheels,” and that she isn’t as empowered as her famous ex to win a publicity battle.

“We don’t know how to fight the machine,” explains Raymond, who says it’s “hurtful” when the press reduces her to just some “baby mama” or “gold digger.”

Does she hate Usher?

“Absolutely not,” says Raymond.

Another custody hearing is scheduled for end of this month.

Usher Wins Custody Battle, Hugs Ex Tameka Raymond After Ruling (VIDEO)

Truth rating: 10

(TMZ)

Usher retained his children on Friday after a judge dismissed ex-wife Tameka Raymond’s emergency request for primary custody following the near drowning of the former couple’s five-year-old son earlier this week.

The two parents hugged after the emotional ruling (see video below).

A tearful Tameka had taken the stand to discuss little Usher Raymond V’s swimming pool accident, accusing his famous dad of being an inattentive father.

The performer’s legal team countered that the scary incident had nothing to do with Usher’s parental abilities and could have happened to anyone.

In the end, the judge sided with Usher and determined that he should retain full custody, calling this week’s drama an “awful accident,” but saying the evidence did not indicate that anyone could have handled the situation better than the “capable” aunt who was watching after the five-year-old at the pool.

He did warn Usher, “In the future you would be well advised to keep your former spouse informed about your whereabouts and who is taking care of the kids. That will be a feature perhaps in the case as this moves forward or the companion case.”

Tameka Raymond has posted a hospital picture of Usher Raymond V, her five-year-old son with ex-husband Usher, at whose pool the little boy almost drowned earlier this week.

To accompany the Instagram pic (see full version below), Raymond wrote, “My favorite 5 year old. What a blessing! I have always loved and appreciated my sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident. URV had an angel named Kile Ishmael and our Lord and true savior to look after him. Words cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am.”

Her 11-year-old son Kile died after a freak jet ski accident last year.

She asked for temporary custody of little Usher after this week’s drama, alleging that his famous father left him unsupervised and too often delegates child care responsibilities given his travel schedule.

Earlier on Thursday, Raymond tweeted, “Im very happy this morning, my son is resting well… we had a SpongeBob marathon ALLL night, he wouldn’t go to sleep! Thank u 4 the prayers.”
