On Wednesday’s episode, Stephen Colbert picked apart the track’s lyrics, which feature lines from Cool J such as, “If you don’t judge my gold chains / I’ll forget the iron chains.”

The comedian joked, “Now, that’s a pretty good deal, Paisley. LL will forget 250 years of enslavement, if you accept his taste in accessories.”

Colbert then composed his own “awful” song titled “Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe.”

“Whoever did this obviously did not know sh*t about the people of Boston,” declared Colbert. “Because nothing these terrorists do is going to shake them.”

The comedian went on to describe the glories of Boston — from the Pilgrims to the Red Sox to Aerosmith — and ended on a touching note, reflecting on the runners who finished the marathon and kept running to the hospital to donate blood.

“Here’s what I know: These maniacs may have tried to make life bad for the people of Boston, but all they can ever do is show just how good those people are.”
