CLAIM: Katie Couric Wants Matt Lauer to Walk Her Down the Aisle at Wedding

“Matt Lauer and Katie Couric are more than just casual colleagues — Star has learned that the former Today show hosts are so tight that Katie wants Matt to walk her down the aisle,” reports the magazine.

“Most people don’t realize how close Matt and Katie still are,” a “friend” tells Star. “They consider each other family, and that didn’t change when they stopped working together.”

The tab’s source goes on to claim that Lauer “was one of the first people Katie called” when fiancé John Molner proposed in September.

“Having Matt by her side will make Katie’s special day even better,” the supposed pal tells the magazine.

“But, ever the journalist at heart,” reports Star, “Matt is hoping to get a professional boost from Katie’s wedding as well and is pushing her to give Today some kind exclusive on her nuptials.”

The tabloid adds, “Devoted to her BFF, Katie may very well agree.”

Not so fast.

While Lauer and Couric do remain on good terms, the bride-to-be has NOT asked him to walk her down the aisle.

A source close to Couric laughed when Gossip Cop inquired, and told us ”Katie hasn’t even made wedding plans yet.”

Whoops.

Gwyneth Paltrow Plotting To “Ruin” Vanity Fair Oscar Party?

Gwyneth Paltrow is getting “revenge” on Vanity Fair for its upcoming takedown story about the actress, reports Star.

The mag claims Paltrow has “cooked up a spiteful plan” to “ruin the mag’s Oscar party!”

How exactly?

According to a supposed “insider” for the tabloid, “Gwyneth is hoping to host a bigger, better and more star-studded bash than Vanity Fair’s celebrated bash.”

“She’s working around the clock to enlist her friends to attend and boycott the Vanity Fair soiree,” adds the purported “source.”

Really?

Not. At. All.

Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Paltrow, who tells us the magazine’s story is “completely ridiculous,” noting, “Gwyneth is not organizing any party for the Oscars.”

LeAnn Rimes “Pays” Eddie Cibrian For Sex, Claims ABSURD Tabloid Report

“Love really does cost a thing if you’re LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian,” begins a ridiculous story from Star, which claims “the country singer pays her hubby for sex!”

What?!

The magazine, which has previously claimed the pair was having a baby — and then getting a $50 million divorce – now says Rimes “is constantly in the mood due to a ‘sexual awakening,’” while Cibrian supposedly “would rather plop himself in front of the TV and watch sports.”

According to the tab, “Since the ‘Spitfire’ singer already pays for most of the couple’s household expenses, she decided to stop begging Eddie for quality time and start bribing him for it.”

“It’s almost like their foreplay,” alleges a bogus “insider” for the mag, who claims Cibrian has “already earned himself a $6,000 mountain bike, along with hefty wads of cash.”

Meanwhile, Star has earned itself zero credibility with this preposterous story.

Rimes and Cibrian are married.

She does not pay him for sex.

The tabloid knows absolutely nothing about the couple’s private relationship.

Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Cibrian, who tells us, “Star has really stooped to the lowest levels of journalism,” adding that the publication “should be ashamed and embarrassed” for this made up report.
