Victoria Beckham Done with Spice Girls: My “Singing Days Are Over”

Truth rating: 10

Say goodbye to Victoria Beckham the singer.

The performer has officially retired as a vocal performer, despite reported plans for the Spice Girls to reunite.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, there was speculation that the girl group would tour Australia next year, but a rep for Beckham informed us she would not be participating.

Now we’ve learned that the fashion designer is done performing forever.

“Victoria has made no secret of the fact her singing days are over, with a hugely successful business and a growing family,” her rep tells Gossip Cop.

“She loved her time as a Spice Girl,” adds the publicist, ”and will always wish the other girls well in whatever they choose to do.”

There are unconfirmed reports that the Spice Girls want to hold a reality competition show to find Beckham’s replacement.

Gossip Cop will have updates.

Victoria Beckham “Reuniting” with Spice Girls to “Tour Australia”?

Truth rating: 2

7:26 pm, February 27th, 2013

(Perez Hilton)

Spice Girls REUNITING To Tour Australia In 2014?! EVEN POSH?!” asks a clueless-as-ever Perez Hilton.

According to the bad blogger, “Even though the Spice Girls musical BOMBED in critical reviews, the sizzling quintet will reportedly Viva Forever — or at lease [sic] Viva for a few shows — in Australia sometime in 2014!!”

“Baby, Ginger, Scary, Sporty AND EVEN POSH will be slamming it to the left for allll their Australian fans,” writes Perez, doing his favorite kind of “reporting”: copying and pasting an unconfirmed, dubious rumor.

Perez even adds, “Unfortunately, no news as to whether the spiciest of ladies will be zigga-zig-ahing anywhere else, but we can’t imagine they would ONLY bring their girl power to Australia… That would be MAJOR bland sauce!”

What would actually be “major” is if Perez stopped blindly running stories without any fact-checking whatsoever.

A rep for Beckham tells Gossip Cop that she is focused on spending time with her family and working on her fashion business, not music, and has no plans to participate in such a tour.

As for an Australian tour without Posh, reps for the other Spice Girls have not responded to requests for comment.
