“Smash” is gearing up for its return next week, with NBC releasing two new clips hyping Jennifer Hudson’s addition to the show on Monday.

In one of the clips, Hudson’s character, a two-time Tony Award winner named Veronica “Ronnie” Moore, advises Karen (Katharine McPhee) on how to deal with her upcoming success when “Bombshell” hits Broadway.
Another preview shows Hudson belting out “Mama Makes Three” during her Broadway show.
The series’ two-hour premiere airs on Tuesday, February 5 at 9 p.m.
