Identity Thief is set to win the weekend box office, with the Jason Bateman–Melissa McCarthy comedy on pace for an estimated $34 million windfall, even as a blizzard batters the East Coast.
Zombie romance Warm Bodies ($9 million) should finish in second place, just ahead of the new thriller Side Effects, starring Rooney Mara, Jude Law and Channing Tatum ($8 million).
Oscar contender Silver Linings Playbook is expected to be in the #4 slot with about $6 million.
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is set to place fifth at $4.8 million, beating Jessica Chastain’s one-two punch of Mama ($4 million) and Zero Dark Thirty ($3.5 million).
Django Unchained and Argo will likely battle for #8 — both movies are on track for approximately $2 million.
The Sylvester Stallone action flick Bullet To The Head should round out the chart with a $1.5 million haul.
