Sacha Baron Cohen “killed” a woman at Saturday’s BAFTA-LA Brittania Awards.

The actor was on stage to accept the Charlie Chaplin Britannia for Excellence in Comedy award from “Grace Cullington,” described as the oldest-living person to have worked with the legendary screen star.

But he sent the audience into a panic when he “tripped” over Cullington’s wheelchair, sending the woman flying on to the floor below, where she lay lifeless.

Many did not realize it was a joke from the same guy who brought the world Borat and The Dictator — until Cohen went on with his acceptance speech.

“Grace Cullington is the oldest, no, sorry, was the oldest surviving [Chaplin co-star]. I dedicate my award to her. This is obviously a tragedy. She has upstaged me,” said Cohen, going on to quip, “But on the bright side, what a great way to go, giving an award to me. Thus, she’ll probably make the Oscars In Memoriam segment.”
