Ryan Lochte Suffers Torn MCL, Sprained ACL After Trying to Catch Excited Fan

An incident with an overeager Ryan Lochte fan has left the Olympic gold medalist shockingly injured.
The swimmer suffered a torn MCL and a sprained ACL in his left knee on Sunday after an excited female admirer ran to greet him, and the two toppled over.
Lochte was attempting to catching the unnamed fan, but instead fell and hit his knee on a sidewalk curb.
The woman, who also crashed to the ground, was uninjured.
In a statement, Lochte’s rep says, “As a result of a freak injury caused by an unexpected fan encounter, Ryan has suffered a torn MCL and an ACL sprain and will be taking a break from training and competition.”
“His medical team expects him to make a full and speedy recovery and Ryan thanks everyone for their well wishes,” adds the spokesperson.
