Nick Lachey Was a “Good Husband” to Jessica, Says Joe Simpson (VIDEO)

Joe Simpson has no beef with Nick Lachey, even after his former son-in-law called him out on television.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the 98 Degrees singer was asked on “Watch What Happens Live” about the best part of no longer having Simpson as his father-in-law.

“I don’t have to play grab a** under the table on Easter Sunday,” Lachey replied.

The dicey comment caused waves online, and while Jessica Simpson’s dad says he was caught off-guard by the diss, he still holds Lachey in high esteem.

“I love Nick,” he told TMZ over the weekend. “I think he was a good husband to my daughter.”

But would Simpson be willing to hang out with Lachey today?

MAG: Jessica Simpson Angrily Texts Nick Lachey To “Keep Mouth Shut” About Dad

“Jessica To Nick: Don’t Spill My Secrets!” screams the headline of a Star story that goes on to claim Jessica Simpson is now “at war” with her ex-husband Nick Lachey.

The mag says Simpson’s “furious” after Lachey “dropped an unexpected bombshell” on the show “Watch What Happens Live” when he said, “The best thing about not having Joe Simpson anymore as a father-in-law is I don’t have to play grab-a** under the table on Easter Sunday.”

According to a so-called “source” for the tabloid, Simpson immediately texted Lachey to “keep his mouth shut about her dad.”

The magazine goes on to say that Lachey is “not sorry” at all, and even has “enough dirt on Jessica to fill two tell-alls,” such as the claim that she “cheated on him with a number of guys, including Bam Margera.”

Really?

Nope.

A source close to Simpson tells Gossip Cop Simpson did NOT text Lachey after his comments on “Watch What Happens Live” — and she NEVER cheated on him with Margera.

Of course, it should be no surprise that Star is WRONG again.

This is the same tabloid that incorrectly claimed Simpson was writing a tell-all, and was equally mistaken about her mom Tina Simpson also penning an expose about her marriage to Joe.

Nick Lachey Says He Hasn’t Spoken to Jessica Simpson in 6 Years, Slams Dad Joe

Nick Lachey answered some pretty interesting questions about Jessica Simpson and slammed her family on Tuesday’s “Watch What Happens Live.”

Host Andy Cohen asked the 98 Degrees singer when he last spoke to his ex-wife, whom he split from in 2005.

“It’s been years… Honestly, probably six years,” confessed Lachey. “It was like another lifetime ago.”

He then answered that the best part about not having Joe Simpson as a father-in-law anymore is that “I don’t have to play grab a** under the table on Easter Sunday.”

Whoa!
