Nick Cannon Slams Kanye West: “Real Geniuses Don’t Have to Tell Everyone That They Are a Genius”

Nick Cannon slammed Kanye West on Twitter late Wednesday for one of the rapper’s recent rants.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, West has been making a series of eyebrow-raising comments in recent weeks, and in one interview, cockily said it’s “factual” he’s a ”creative genius,” and would even list it as his occupation on custom forms “except for two reasons: it takes too long to write and sometimes I spell the word genius wrong.”

Cannon, however, can think of another reason West should keep that title to himself.

“I love @KanyeWest like a brother & been one of his biggest fans & friends since day 1, but Genius is eternal patience,” tweeted the “America’s Got Talent” host.

Cannon went on, “@KanyeWest Real geniuses don’t have to tell everyone that they are a genius.”

He then added, “Maybe I should’ve just called him and told him that in private. Oops, my bad! Twitter-stream-of-consciousness LOL.”

“I just got online and saw all these @KanyeWest interviews and I was inspired to rant,” explained Cannon. “Oh well, going back to Thanksgiving. We cookin’ son!”

West has not responded — yet.

CLAIM: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s Marriage “Hanging By A Thread”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are “falling apart,” claims Star.

The tabloid writes, “Amid rumors of her cheating and him checking out of the relationship, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s five-year union is in jeopardy.”

According to a source for Star, “Mariah and Nick’s marriage is hanging by a thread. Neither of them shows much interest in working through their problems.”

The basis for the story seems to be Carey’s alleged frustration with Cannon’s work ethic and her annoyance when he discusses their relationship in his comedy.

A tipster tells the tabloid, “They barely see each other anymore and are basically living across the country from each other. Mariah is under enormous stress, trying to finish her new album, and Nick isn’t supportive. She’s ready to ditch him.”

Why doesn’t she?

“Mariah would cut Nick loose, but she’s too worried about him making a grab for a huge chunk of her fortune,” alleges another “source” for the magazine.

The Star “insider” says, “The only thing holding them together right now is their shared love of their son and daughter. But Mariah and Nick’s marriage may well be past the point of saving.”

Uh-huh.

Look, tabloids frequently use celebrity couples’ busy work schedules (which often take them apart for periods of time) as an excuse to write up “split” stories.

But an outlet like Star, which has been COMPLETELY off base about Cannon and Carey in the past, should really have some more evidence than supposed “stress” before declaring that their marriage is “hanging by a thread.”

A rep for the couple says the new report is completely false.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Headed For Divorce, Claims Tabloid

“Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s marriage hit a rough patch after rumors began swirling that BOTH stars have been cheating,” reports the National Enquirer.

Umm… what rumors?

According to the tabloid, Carey was spotted “flirting up a storm” with Nas at the rapper’s birthday party on September 12.

The singer was noticeably “NOT wearing her wedding ring” at the bash, says the mag.

OK, that was almost a month ago, and we’re just hearing about it now?

Anyway, the magazine goes on to allege that Cannon was “also jealous over the long hours Mariah spent helping pal Arsenio Hall plan the launch of his recently debuted talk show.”

We’re not even going to touch that one.

The Enquirer further claims Carey has suspected Cannon of cheating, quoting a so-called “source” as saying, “I think she fears Nick’s wandering eye.”

“Things have just gone from bad to worse for them,” notes the tab’s “insider,” who adds, “Perhaps the only answer right now is divorce.”

Oh, please.

The mag has been touting a Carey and Cannon split virtually ever since the pair got married in 2009.

It wasn’t true then, and it’s still not true now.

In fact, Carey just posted a Twitter shot of her cleavage on Cannon’s birthday, along with the caption, “Happy Birthday to my Hubby @NickCannon… ‘my baby I’m waiting on youuuu.’”

So it’s safe to say that all is good with the couple.

In any case, a rep for Carey tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer’s story is “stupid” and “not true.”
