MTV Video Music Awards – Entertainably

According to the network, after the performance West “will triumphantly enter the history books by tying Madonna as the artist with the most VMA performances.”

Madge’s record currently stands at seven VMAs performances.

West last performed on the awards show in 2011.

This year’s VMAs will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25, and Gossip Cop will have full coverage.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Lady Gaga is also slated to perform.

MTV wants to know: Who the hottest star of the summer?

For the next several weeks — until August 18 — fans of music’s biggest acts can vote for their favorites by tweeting #MTVHottest and then the name of the artist.

As of now, One Direction is on top of the live leader board rankings, with well over 2 million tweets of “#MTVHottest One Direction.”

Justin Bieber is in second place, followed by Demi Lovato, The Wanted, and Selena Gomez.

But things are rapidly changing, with Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj also lurking in the current Top 10!
