Rachel Bilson is NOT shunning her former “O.C.” co-star Mischa Barton, despite a FALSE report from RadarOnline.

On Thursday, the webloid claimed Bilson is somehow trying to block Barton’s comeback attempt in Hollywood.

The blog alleged that Bilson and her fellows “O.C.” alums are “upset” with Barton “because of her mercurial behavior on the set; and the tarnish they believe she left on their careers with her professional missteps.”

A so-called “insider” told the site Bilson “is the one who basically made it be known that it’s okay for everybody to wash their hands of Mischa and not forgive her past transgressions.”

“It’s really sad because [Mischa’s] literally trying to set up dinners to make amends and Rachel is telling everybody to ‘ignore her and she’ll go away,’” added the supposed “source.”

But the blog’s report is completely made up.

A rep for Bilson tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “The RadarOnline ‘story’ is a complete fabrication. There simply is no truth to it at all.”

The star’s spokesperson adds, “No one from RadarOnline checked in with Rachel or us for validity or comments. Rachel has no ill will towards Mischa – she has and will continue to wish her well.”

Mischa Barton: I Had “Full-On Breakdown”

Truth rating: 10

9:30 am, October 16th, 2013

(People)

Mischa Barton had a “full-on breakdown” that landed her in a psychiatric ward, she tells People.

The actress became tabloid fodder with her partying and erratic behavior in the years after she rocketed to stardom on “The O.C.,” and Barton is now opening up for the first time about her downward spiral.

“We thought, ‘Work hard, play hard,’” explains the star of her wild years, during which she was arrested for DUI.

In 2009, after Barton’s parents attempted an intervention, the actress blacked out after taking a sedative and was placed in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center psychiatric ward under and involuntary 5150 hold after threatening to commit suicide.

She tells People, “It was a full-on breakdown. I was under enormous pressure.”

Barton subsequently began to focus on her health, but was bullied after putting on weight.

She says that when she first became famous, “It was always, ‘She’s too skinny, she must be sick. Then it was, ‘She’s too big.’ I was never the right weight.”

Barton is finally more stable after years of struggle.

“I’ve learned a lot,” she tells the magazine. “I’m stronger now.”
