Michael Jackson is the top-earning dead celebrity, according to Forbes.

The outlet says the late King of Pop’s estate took in $160 million between October 2012 and October 2013.

That was enough to beat the highest-paid living celebrity for the year, Madonna, who in August was said to have brought in $125 million.

Among other deceased stars, Elvis Presley posthumously earned $55 million in the same time period, far below Jackson but enough to place him second on the list.

Forbes said it based its ranking and estimates on information from “estate managers, licensors and lawyers involved in the dead celebrity business.”

Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Trial Verdict: Jury Finds AEG Live NOT Liable

Truth rating: 10

The jury in Michael Jacksons wrongful death trial has ruled in favor of AEG Live, determining that the company was not liable for the pop star’s death.

Katherine Jackson and the star’s three kids sued the concert promoting company in 2010, claiming it negligently hired and supervised Dr. Conrad Murray in whose care Jackson was in,  and overworked him during his “This Is It” tour rehearsals.

A jury on Wednesday concluded that AEG Live did hire Dr. Murray, but that he was not incompetent in his care of the pop star.

The singer died of a propofol overdose on June 25, 2009.

A judge on Monday dismissed two AEG Live executives from Michael Jacksons wrongful death lawsuit, filed by Katherine Jackson.

The judge ruled that lawyers had not shown enough evidence that AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips and promoter Paul Gongaware were responsible for the pop singer’s death.

Now, a jury will decide whether AEG hired former doctor Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s 2009 death.

Deliberations could begin this month.
