Katy Perry Being “Controlled” By John Mayer, Claims Tabloid

Katy Perry is being “controlled” by John Mayer, reports Star.

According to the tabloid, the pair is “mere months from getting engaged,” but “before John pops the question, he’s making sure to revamp Katy’s look — and her life.”

Umm… how so?

The magazine claims Mayer “recently took Katy to the viewing salon at Chanel in Beverly Hills, where she shelled out more than $100,000 for new clothes, shoes and handbags, all under the direction of John.”

A so-called “source” tells the tab, “He is image obsessed. He likes to be in charge, and she doesn’t question his judgement.”

Well Gossip Cop is questioning this story, considering it came from the same publication that reported Mayer was getting a new belly button.

We checked in with a close Mayer friend, who tells us the mag’s story is simply “not true.”

Katy Perry and John Mayer are “having a baby,” announces OK!

According to the magazine, the couple “plan on starting a family as early as this fall.”

The tabloid claims the singers got the idea in their heads after Perry supposedly told Mayer she thought she was pregnant last month.

A so-called “source” says, “Instead of him flipping out, he leapt with joy and grabbed her in a huge bear hug!”

“Katy was completely caught off guard,” alleges the mag’s “insider,” who adds, “She never expected that reaction from him and for a few moments, they were both caught up in the possibility of becoming parents, with John completely excited like a puppy!”

Really?

No.

None of this ever happened.

Gossip Cop checked in with a close Mayer insider, who tells us, “This is not true.”

CLAIM: John Mayer “Gutted” After Katy Perry Rejects Marriage Proposal

John Mayer was left “gutted” after Katy Perry rejected his marriage proposal, claims Grazia.

According to the tab, the crooner popped the question last week after getting permission from the pop star’s parents — only to get shot down.

“John’s proposal really unnerved Katy. Even though they have discussed it, she thought it was too soon,” a so-called “source” tells Grazia.

The alleged insider continues, “Katy loves John, but doesn’t feel she has had enough healing time since her divorce.”

“She told him she just needed a bit more time to feel whole in herself again,” adds Grazia’s supposed snitch.

Okay, stop.

We’d just like to point out how awfully convenient it is for outlets to weasel out of fake proposal stories by just pretending the star said no to the (non-existent) marriage offer.

In any case, Gossip Cop investigated and no one could confirm any such exchange between Mayer and Perry took place.

There was NO proposal, a mutual friend of Gossip Cop and the couple assures us.
