Teresa and Joe Giudice of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” were indicted on fraud and tax charges on Monday.

The Department of Justice announced that the Bravo personalities were charged “in a conspiracy to defraud lenders and illegally obtain mortgages and other loans as well as allegedly hiding assets and income during a bankruptcy case.”

According to a 39-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury, the couple is accused of “conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.”

It also alleges that Joe Giudice failed to file tax returns between 2004 and 2008.

“The indictment returned today alleges the Guidices lied to the bankruptcy court, to the IRS and to a number of banks,” said U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman. “Everyone has an obligation to tell the truth when dealing with the courts, paying their taxes and applying for loans or mortgages. That’s reality.”

The Giudices have not been arrested, but are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Teresa Guidice BLASTS Report of Husband Cheating With Nanny

Truth rating: 0

(Life & Style)

“Joe Cheated With Nanny!” screams the cover of Life & Style, which alleges that Joe Giudice has been stepping out on his wife, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Guidice.

According to the tab, the couple’s 13-year marriage may be coming to an end after Joe was busted cheating with “20-something beauty” Nicole Cemelli, who was hired to take care of the Giudices’ four daughters.

The mag throws in for good measure that Cemelli “bears a striking resemblance to Teresa” when she was younger.

But even though ”rumors of Joe’s shameful philandering have run rampant since the show premiered in 2009,” says Life & Style, “Teresa comes from a very religious Italian family that doesn’t believe in divorce – that’s why she’s put up with so much.”

So, is Teresa going to look the other way?

NO – because the Bravo star says the story is NOT true.

Teresa writes on her blog that she and her husband have known Cemelli and her family “since she was in high school. No secret. No mystery… What’s unfair and completely disgusting is that you would drag every person we ever speak to into your fake stories.”

She further notes that Cemelli is “freaking out now… getting harassing calls at her work, being stalked on the Internet, and even followed.”

Teresa ends her post by threatening a possible lawsuit.

“You know we have four daughters that are personally hurt every time you print these lies, but that doesn’t seem to faze you at all,” writes Teresa, adding, “Maybe being sued for defamation finally will.”
