“Could Mel Gibson be the biological father of Jodie Foster’s two sons?” asks the New York Post, which goes on to claim, “that’s what some in Hollywood were wondering as Foster thanked Gibson — ‘You know, you save me, too’ — in her heartfelt speech Sunday” at the Golden Globes.

The paper, which notes that Gibson sat at the event with Foster and her sons Charles, 14, and Kit, 12, quotes an “amateur genealogist” as saying, “The kids look like him [Gibson] but blonder.”

Adds the Post, “If Gibson, a father of eight, donated his sperm to Foster, it would explain her fierce loyalty to the troubled star while the rest of Hollywood shunned him over his anti-Semitic remarks and abusive treatment of Oksana Grigorieva, the Russian girlfriend who bore his last child, Lucia, 3.”

Could Gibson really be Foster’s secret baby daddy?

Gossip Cop checked with a mutual pal of ours and Gibson’s, who literally laughed at the suggestion.

We’re told that any speculation that Gibson is the father of Foster’s sons is “so stupid” and totally false.

VIDEO: Jodie Foster Emotional Golden Globes Speech About Sexuality & Privacy

10:54 pm, January 13th, 2013

(NBC)

Jodie Foster delivered a show-stopping Golden Globes acceptance speech on Sunday, officially coming out of the closet (kind of) while defending her right to privacy after decades in a Hollywood community brought to tears by her emotional address.

VIDEO BELOW

Accepting an honor for lifetime achievement, Foster began in somewhat rambling fashion, speaking about the process of making movies, before turning her attention to the incessant questions about her sexuality and personal life.

Foster essentially came out of the closet — by saying that she really had years ago, to the people closest to her.

She thanked her onetime lesbian partner, and then spoke directly to her mother with words that led audience members to tear up.

She also seemed to imply that she’d be retiring — but backstage, Gossip Cop learned that that’s NOT the case.

“I could never stop acting,” said Foster. “I’m not retiring from acting… I’m actually more into it than I’ve ever been.”

Check out Foster’s historic and memorable speech in the video below!
