Jay Z jumped on a commuter train in London on Saturday en route to his concert at the O2 Arena.

Along for the ride were Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Timbaland, who later both joined the rapper onstage for a performance of “Heart of the City” (video below).

Numerous people on the underground — or the Tube as it’s known – snapped photos of the famous musicians, who seemed to have enjoyed the experience.

Jay Z is set the play the O2 once more on Monday. No word yet on whether he’ll take the Tube there again.

This isn’t the first time he’s taken public transportation to a concert.

Just a year ago, he took a subway in New York to one of his concerts at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Jay Z Talks Selling Crack, Courting Beyonce, and Blue Ivy “Joy” in Vanity Fair

Truth rating: 10

10:11 am, October 1st, 2013

(Mario Testino for Vanity Fair)

Jay Z opens up in the November issue of Vanity Fair about his early life as a crack dealer, how he pursued Beyonce and what Blue Ivy thinks of his music.

While Beyonce says their 18-month-old daughter prefers Jay Z’s music to hers, the rapper tells the mag, “That’s not true. She does like her mother’s music — she watches [Beyonce’s concerts] on the computer every night.”

But he admits Blue Ivy “loves” his new album, sharing, “She plays a song and she goes, ‘More, Daddy, more… Daddy song.’ She’s my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta, the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy.”

The performer goes on to talk about growing up in the projects in Brooklyn, revealing, “Crack was everywhere — it was inescapable. There wasn’t any place you could go for isolation or a break. You go in the hallway; [there are] crackheads in the hallway. You look out in the puddles on the curbs — crack vials are littered in the side of the curbs. You could smell it in the hallways, that putrid smell; I can’t explain it, but it’s still in my mind when I think about it.”

Jay Z says he sold crack but never used it, and tells the magazine he didn’t feel guilty about drug dealing until later on in life.

“In the beginning… I was thinking about surviving. I was thinking about improving my situation. I was thinking about buying clothes,” he explains.

The “Otis” singer also discusses how he went after Beyonce in 2001, saying “of course” he pursued her — rather than the other way around.

Jay Z reveals her had to try pretty hard to get the pop star, sharing, “You got to dazzle… wine and dine.”

Asked about the rumors that Beyonce was faking her pregnancy, he says, “I don’t even know how to answer that. It’s just so stupid. You know, I felt dismissive about it, but you’ve got to feel for her.”

Chris Brown Identifies with Trayvon Martin, Says Jay Z “Gets A Pass” For Stabbing Someone and Selling Drugs

Truth rating: 10

(JET)

Chris Brown says he identifies with Trayvon Martin and alleges that Jay Z has been unfairly given the benefit of the doubt compared to himself in a new cover interview with JET.

The singer-dancer tells the magazine, “I identify with Trayvon 100 percent as far as living in 2013 and still dealing with blatant racism.”

“This generation is so used to racism that it’s normal; we don’t care. We aren’t on drugs or catching AIDS, but they still look at us as ni**as,” explains Brown.

As for his bad reputation, the performer makes an interesting comparison.

“No disrespect, because I’m a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that [Jay Z] stabbed somebody and sold drugs,” observes Brown. “He gets a pass.”

What about Brown’s well-documented issues with anger?

He tells JET, “You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part. I don’t try to last out at people, or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be.”

Brown feels as though he’s been pushed to the edge.

“I got to the point where it’s only so much you can take from the master, you feel me?” he says. “I’ve taken my fair share of lashings.”

What do you think about Brown’s comments?
