Jamie Foxx Lined Up to Play Martin Luther King, Jr. in Oliver Stone Movie

Jamie Foxx is being lined up to portray Martin Luther King, Jr. in a film directed by Oliver Stone, according to a number of recent reports.

Earlier this month, a number of outlets indicated that Stone was set to make a biopic about the iconic civil rights leader with members of King’s family involved as producers.

“We’re looking for a way to relate to this extraordinary man,” Stone told the Wall Street Journal, which characterized the director as “officially moving ahead” with Foxx.

But while Any Given Sunday collaborators Stone and Foxx may well re-team for the King project, Gossip Cop has learned that nothing’s been finalized.

In fact, a source close to Foxx tells Gossip Cop that it’s “doubtful” he’ll wind up signed for the movie.

A rep would not comment.

Jamie Foxx: I Am NOT Dating Katie Holmes

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are NOT dating, despite a new report from In Touch that was published Tuesday and spread by equally gullible outlets.

The stars were first linked in August when the pair danced on stage together at a party.

The requisite “hooking up” claims soon followed, but as Gossip Cop reported at the time, the two were nothing more than longtime friends.

What’s changed?

Absolutely nothing.

Foxx and Holmes weren’t dating then, and they still aren’t dating now.

“[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true,” the actor himself tells “Entertainment Tonight.”

Foxx adds, “In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people.”

In other words: Enough!

Katie Holmes & Jamie Foxx Are “Hooking Up,” Claims Webloid

“New Couple Alert? Jamie Foxx & Katie Holmes Caught Holding Hands At Hamptons Bash,” reads the headline of a new RadarOnline “exclusive.”

According to the webloid, “Holmes blindsided Tom Cruise when she filed for divorce just over a year ago,” and now she’s going to “stun him once again by hooking up with his former best friend, Jamie Foxx.”

The blog claims “the pair did not hide their affection while dancing together at the Apollo in the Hamptons benefit in East Hampton, New York on Saturday.”

“Katie repeatedly grabbed Jamie’s arm and generally looked happier than she has in ages,” exclaims RadarOnline.

The webloid adds that Foxx and Holmes have “become much closer in recent weeks,” and quotes some random other site as saying they’ve been dating for “a few months.”

Wait, wasn’t RadarOnline the same site that previously dropped the ball when it reported that Holmes wants to only date artists, not actors, like Oscar-winner Foxx?

Regardless, there is NO “new couple alert,” there is NO “hooking up,” and they are NOT dating.

A mutual friend of Holmes and Gossip Cop called the coupling report “ridiculous,” stressing that she and Foxx have been “friends for a very long time.”

The real deal is that RadarOnline took some photos of the two pals at the Apollo event in the Hamptons (above right) and fashioned a bogus “new couple” post around those pics.

Nothing more than that.
