George Zimmerman was taken into police custody on Monday after a gun-related incident, according to police.

A reported confrontation and threat involving Zimmerman is being investigated by cops in Lake Mary, Florida.

Details are scarce, but local outlets say law enforcement officials are characterizing it as a “domestic altercation” involving Zimmerman’s estranged wife Shellie, who recently filed for divorce.

Zimmerman’s trial and acquittal on charges relating to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin riveted the country for much of the summer.
