Frank Ocean Tears Vocal Cord, Cancels Australian Tour

Frank Ocean has canceled his Australian tour due to a torn vocal cord.

The problem was discovered after the performer suffered throat problems during his first concert on Thursday.

In a statement, promoter Live Nation said, “After last night’s concert… it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show. It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal cords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice.”

According to reports, Ocean was off-key and clearly ailing during Thursday’s opening night performance, telling the crowd he was “sick.”

Frank Ocean Told Cops He Was Called “F*ggot” During Chris Brown Fight

Frank Ocean claims he was called a “f*ggot” and that Chris Brown threatened to shoot him during their recent parking lot brawl, according to the police incident report.

According to the official documentation, Ocean told cops Brown punched him in the face and that two members of Brown’s entourage also entered the fray following a dispute over a parking space.

Ocean alleges that someone shouted “f*ggot” during the melee, although he couldn’t identify the person who used the slur.

At one point in the fight, Ocean alleges Brown made a reference to gunplay, purportedly threatening, “We can bust on you too!”

Ocean sustained injuries in the fracas but ultimately wrote a public letter of forgiveness, saying he did not want to press charges against Brown.

Frank Ocean: I Forgive Chris Brown, Will NOT Press Charges

Frank Ocean says he will not press charges against Chris Brown following their parking lot fight last Sunday.

The singer explained his thinking in a Tumblr post (see below).

“As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man,” said Ocean.

He continued, “But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person.”

“I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom,” wrote Ocean.

The performer concluded, “Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace.”

And just like that, it appears the matter is resolved — at least from Ocean’s point of view.

There are still conflicting versions of events as to what exactly transpired between Ocean and Brown last week.
