Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross are engaged!

The singer announced the news on Twitter on Monday, sharing a photo of her engagement ring (see right).

Simpson tweeted out a picture of the couple, along with the caption, “My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!!”

Ross also shared the photo, writing, “The love of my life said YES!!!!!!”

The pair began dating last June, but have been family friends for years.

Simpson was previously married to Pete Wentz, with whom she has a 5-year-old son, Bronx.

CLAIM: Diana Ross Wants Son Evan to Dump Ashlee Simpson

“Diana Ross wants her son Evan to Stop! In the Name of Love when it comes to his girlfriend of five months, Ashlee Simpson,” reports Star.

The legendary singer “doesn’t want Ashlee’s hard-partying lifestyle to rub off on Evan,” explains the tabloid.

“Diana’s worried that Ashlee will bring him down,” a source tells Star.

Really?

Because it seems unlikely that Ross would want to stand in the way of what seems like a lovely romance.

Especially since Star has not done well with its reporting on Simpson in recent months, fabricating controversy for her on numerous occasions.

The streak continues.

A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the story is completely “false.”

Pete Wentz Tells Ashlee Simpson Boyfriend To “Stay Away” From Son Bronx?

Pete Wentz wants Ashlee Simpson’s new man Evan Ross to “stay away” from the former couple’s son Bronx, reports Star.

According to the magazine, the Fall Out Boy singer is dead-set against Simpson “bringing her new, party-obsessed boyfriend around their 4-year-old son.”

A purported “insider” for the tab claims, “Pete has known Evan from the Hollywood scene and thinks he’s trouble.”

Really?

Not at all.

A rep for Wentz tells Gossip Cop, “Pete Wentz isn’t familiar with Evan and has not suggested anything of the sort.”

Of course, the mag’s inaccurate report is not entirely surprising considering its sister site RadarOnline has gotten more than a few stories wrong about Wentz and Simpson.
