Rihanna opens up about her relationship with Chris Brown, her desire to start a family, and one of her infamous tattoos in Elle UK.

Talking about her renewed romance with Brown, who assaulted her in 2009, the singer says, “Right now, that’s just what we want, a great friendship, that’s unbreakable.”

“Now that we’re adults we can do this right,” Rihanna tells the magazine. ”We got a fresh start and we’re thankful for that.”

The “Stay” songstress even confirms that the ballad, about wanting true love to last, ties into their relationship.

“You don’t have that feeling with everybody so when you have it, you don’t want to let go of it,” Rihanna says. “I would definitely say he is the one I have that kind of relationship with.”

Those in fear, however, that history may repeat itself needn’t worry, says the star, who explains that her gun tattoo on the right side of her rib cage symbolizes her empowerment since the incident.

“Everybody wanted to know what was happening in my life. Is she a drug addict? No. Is she an alcoholic? No. Is she a victim? No,” Rihanna explains. “That’s why I got the gun. It was a symbol of strength. I’ll never be a victim.”

On the contrary, Rihanna is planning on being something else: a mom.

Asked where she sees herself in five years, the singer says, “I will probably have a kid.”

Taylor Swift: “I Never Chase Boys”

Taylor Swift talks about her much-detailed love life in the new issue of Elle, telling the magazine that people’s perception of her when it comes to relationships is far from the truth.

“I’m sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I’m chasing somebody who doesn’t like me as much as I like him – people love that angle on me,” says the singer.

Swift continues, “They’re like ‘Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys.’ I never chase boys. They don’t like it!”

The songstress does concede, however, that her relationships do provide excellent musical fodder — but to her, that’s nothing new.

“To me it’s just writing songs the way I always have. It’s me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn’t understand, writing a song, and understanding it better,” says Swift.

“If people want to dissect the lyrics, that’s their right,” she explains, “but it’s all coming from the exact same place as where I started. It’s just something I do to feel better.”

That need dates back to middle school for Swift, years that she says “programmed me be to be semi-insecure, like, all of the time.”

“I didn’t fit in,” she recalls, adding, “I’d stand on the outside of the circle but I was never really in. That’s when I started to realize there’s this thing called rejection.”

But thanks to music, Swift now has an outlet for her emotions.

“I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at an ex-boyfriend. Ever,” she says. “I’m not a yeller. I’m not a fit thrower. If something is done, it’s done.”
