Phil Robertson has been suspended from filming his A&E series “Duck Dynasty” in the wake of hateful remarks he made about homosexuality.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the reality star spoke to GQ about his belief that being gay is a “sin,” and compared it to bestiality.

He later said in a statement that while he “love[s] all of humanity,” his “mission” is to teach what’s in the Bible “and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.”

GLAAD has already condemned the comments — and now A&E is as well.

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” says the network in a statement.

It adds, “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

GLAAD Slams Duck Dynasty Star, Phil Robertson Backtracks on Anti-Gay Remarks

Phil Robertson has issued an apology of sorts for the anti-gay comments he made in the January issue of GQ.

As Gossip Cop reported, the “Duck Dynasty” star says homosexuality is a “sin,” citing his Christian faith and the Bible as the basis of his belief.

“Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right,” he told the magazine.

But in a statement released on Wednesday through A&E, Robertson backtracks on his comments.

“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together,” says the duck hunter.

Robertson goes on, “However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

GLAAD has also issued a statement slamming the reality star for his remarks.

“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans – and Americans – who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples,” says a spokesperson.

The rep adds, “Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”

Phil Robertson, the star of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty,” talks about God, homosexuality and family in the January issue of GQ.

The reality star tells the mag of his family, “We’re Bible-thumpers who just happened to end up on television. You put in your article that the Robertson family really believes strongly that if the human race loved each other and they loved God, we would just be better off.”

Robertson says that nowadays, “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine.”

Asked what he views as sinful, the Duck Commander businessman shares, “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

Robertson goes on to paraphrase Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

The hunting aficionado further says, “It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus.”

“She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes… But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical,” adds Robertson.

The issue hits newsstands on December 24.
