Drake Bell opened up in depth about Amanda Bynes during an appearance at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City on Saturday.

The actor, who co-starred with Bynes on “The Amanda Show” from 1999-2001, said he maintains a close relationship with the star and that she’s perfectly “healthy,” despite her recent erratic behavior.

Bell told OK! at the event, “Amanda and I are close… I talk to her every day. She’s a sweetheart. I had lunch with her yesterday, and she’s brilliant. She’s good, and she’s healthy.”

He claimed he has confronted Bynes about her odd behavior, saying, “I’m like ‘dude, you come off crazy.’ She’s like, ‘I know, but I don’t mean to. I just changed the way I look.’”

The “Drake and Josh” alum said he told Bynes, “Honey, everyone thinks you’re a drug addict, loony and all that,” but added that he knows “she’s not.”

Bell went on to tell the magazine that he’s never witnessed Bynes acting strange or seeming mentally impaired, sharing, “Anytime I’ve ever been with Amanda, she’s totally coherent, totally there, totally everything.”

Amanda Bynes says she did NOT tweet about hooking up with Drake Bell on “The Amanda Show” set, despite an alleged post making its rounds on the social networking site.

On May 4, the star’s account supposedly tweeted, “I f**ked @DrakeBell so many times on the Amanda show set oh god.”

The post was favorited and retweeted by dozens of Twitter users.

But 10 days later, Bynes took to the social media platform to deny the tweet came from her.

The Easy A actress posted a screenshot of the tweet, writing, “I didn’t tweet this, that’s what happened when I called @drake ugly, I didn’t write that!”

Bynes and Bell co-starred on “The Amanda Show” from 1999-2002.

The troubled star’s Twitter activity over the past six months has included raunchy sexual overtures, threats to sue Perez Hilton and other outlets, and revelations that she has an “eating disorder” and is estranged from her parents.
