“Julianne Hough may have been unlucky in love this year, but as a matchmaker, she’s 1-0,” says Star, which goes on to claim that she set up her brother Derek with her best friend Nina Dobrev.
According to the tabloid, Hough is “very protective” of Dobrev, and “doesn’t want to see her with a loser,” and she’s also “superpicky” about who Derek dates, so she hooked the two up together.
The magazine then quotes a so-called “witness” who saw the supposed couple at Lollapalooza, saying, “Nina and Derek seemed really into each other.”
It’s pretty amazing how Star often seems to have people on the scene, who are able to offer quotations that fit exactly with the premise of their stories.
Regardless, the tab’s “witness” and sources are WRONG.
Dobrev and Derek are NOT dating.
A rep for the “Vampire Diaries” actress tells Gossip Cop the Star story is “not true,” and that Dobrev and Derek Hough are “just friends.”
