Denzel Washington Returning To Broadway With A Raisin In The Sun

Denzel Washington is headed back to Broadway.

The Oscar winner will star in a revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic play, “A Raisin In The Sun.”

At the Monday premiere of his latest film, 2 Guns, Washington said the theatrical drama, about an African-American family’s struggles in postwar Chicago, will begin previews in March 2014.

The actor previously won a Tony Award for his performance in a 2010 revival of August Wilson’s “Fences.”

He also starred in the title role of “Julius Caesar” in 2005.

The new “A Raisin In The Sun” revival will come ten years after the play was last on Broadway, in a version starring Sean “Diddy” Combs.

TAB: Denzel Washington And Wife Splitting Up After Actor “Caught” Cheating

“Denzel Caught Cheating!” screams a headline in Star, which goes on to claim that Denzel Washington’s 30-year marriage to wife Pauletta is “on the brink of a breakdown.”

According to the supermarket tabloid, “after decades of battling infidelity rumors,” the Oscar-winner’s wife “has reached her breaking point.”

The mag then offers several unsubstantiated claims of Washington being unfaithful, and quotes a so-called “close pal” of the actor as saying, “Denzel has always sweet-talked his way out of it.”

But an alleged incident occurred last month that Star says was the “last straw” for Pauletta.

The tab writes that the actor’s wife became “furious” after he was “looking cozy with a pretty blonde at a house party near their Beverly Hills home.”

“A reconciliation seems unlikely,” adds the mag, which has its alleged “mole” say Washington’s wife has “had enough.”

Now, it’s time for Gossip Cop to say enough.

Star, which is already having a bad week when it comes to accuracy, is wrong again here.

Despite the wholly unsubstantiated rumors, the Washingtons are fine.

A source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop the tabloid’s report is “nonsense.”

And Washington’s rep adds, “They are not divorcing, not separating.”
