Danity Kane Officially Announces Reunion at MTV Video Music Awards

It’s official: Danity Kane is back together.

The girl group formally announced their reunion during the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on Sunday.

Danity Kane originally shot to fame in 2005 after being featured on “Making the Band” and getting signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, but broke up in 2009.

Now four of the five members — Aubrey O’DayShannon BexDawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres — are recording a new album and planning a tour.

The group announced that its first single will be called “Rage.”

In anticipation of the big announcement, the group released a brand-new promo shot on Saturday (see below).

Rumors of a reunion, sans Diddy, first surfaced in May.

Danity Kane Reuniting Without Diddy?

Danity Kane is reportedly reuniting — without Diddy.

The girl group, which was formed by Diddy in 2005 on “Making the Band 3,” is currently planning a reunion tour and album, according to TMZ.

Four of the five group members – Aubrey O’DayShannon BexDawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres — were spotted having lunch with their new manager in Los Angeles on Monday.

When the site’s photographers asked if Diddy was going to be involved in their reported reunion, O’Day responded, “Who’s that?”

Diddy signed the band to Bad Boy Records after “Making the Band,” but dropped them in 2009.

The group is perhaps most famous for the hit single ”Damaged.”
