Prince William sat down with CNN for his first in-depth interview since welcoming son George last month, revealing that the one-month-old future king is “a little bit of a rascal.”
“He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I’m not sure, but he’s doing very well at the moment,” says William.

He continues, “He’s a little fighter — he wriggles around quite a lot and he doesn’t want to go to sleep that much.”
William admits to feeling “shock” when he and Kate Middleton debuted their newborn for the world outside St. Mary’s Hospital, “but I was on such a high anyway, and so was Catherine, about George that really we were happy to show him off.”
“As any new parent knows, you’re only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything,” says the royal, adding, “I’m just glad he wasn’t screaming his head off the whole way through.”

The son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana also confesses to “practicing” putting the car seat in their vehicle before leaving the hospital, as he “was terrified it was going to fall off or the door wasn’t going to close properly.”
Among other responsibilities: He changed George’s first diaper. “It’s a badge of honor,” jokes William.
William, who says Middleton is doing “a fantastic job,” stresses he’s focused on the more immediate future than any longtime legacy he hopes to achieve for his growing family.
“At the moment, the only legacy I want to pass on to him is to sleep more and maybe not have to change his [diapers] so many times,” laughs the new dad.
