An interview with Christoph Waltz was interrupted by gunshots at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday.

The Django Unchained star was talking with reporters when all of a sudden, gunfire was heard and the actor and other members of the Cannes jury were rushed off stage.

The incident occurred right before the live broadcast of Le Grand Journal, a French news show that takes place every night during the fest.

The unknown gunman was immediately apprehended by police, and no one was injured.

It was initially reported that the sounds were actually fireworks, but those reports are NOT accurate.

Christoph Waltz Talks Austrian “Sense of Humor” in SNL Monologue; “Hitler” Cameo

Christoph Waltz opened his “SNL” monologue about being “the first German speaking host” of the sketch comedy show, and that Austrians have a ”wonderful sense of humor.”

The monologue included Taran Killam dressed as “casual” Adolf Hitler.

Waltz then sang an “Austrian song” called “Smile, Damn You, Smile.”

Quentin Tarantino’s style of filmmaking was parodied in an “SNL” video for the mock movie Djesus UnCrossed.

In the fake trailer, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz plays Jesus Christ, who rises from the dead in the “ultimate historical revenge fantasy.”

As the trailer’s narrator says, Jesus is “back, and he’s preaching anything but forgiveness.”

Actors in Tarantino films such as Brad Pitt, Ving Rhames, and Samuel L. Jackson as Judas Iscariout, appear in the violent, bloody trailer.
