Casper Smart Says Jennifer Lopez is Returning To American Idol

Casper Smart says Jennifer Lopez is officially returning to “American Idol.”

Lopez’s boyfriend seemingly let the cat out of the bag on Friday, when he was asked by E! News whether the star will be back as a judge on the show this fall.

“Yes,” replied Smart, who apparently thought that FOX had already made the announcement.

The network’s president Kevin Reilly had recently confirmed that Lopez was in talks to return to the singing competition series, but said nothing was finalized.

CLAIM: Jennifer Lopez & Casper Smart “On The Rocks”

“J. Lo & Casper On The Rocks,” reads the headline of an In Touch story that goes on to claim that Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend of two years, Casper Smart, “have hit a rough patch.”

The tabloid quotes a so-called “source” as saying, “They are spending a lot more time apart,” and people were “wondering if they broke up” when Lopez recently did a shoot for Viva Movil smartphones and Smart wasn’t around.

Her boyfriend needs to be by her side 24/7?

Anyway, a rep for Lopez says the couple is NOT having relationship troubles.

In case you forgot, In Touch is the same tabloid that reported Lopez was “falling” for “American Idol” contestant Phillip Phillips (wrong), that she was “still crushing” on Bradley Cooper (not true), and that Smart got J. Lo’s name tattooed on his “nether region” (painfully false).

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart Fighting Over His Mom?

Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart are fighting over his mother, claims Star, which rarely needs a good excuse to publish bogus stories about the couple.

The tabloid claims Lopez and her beau’s mom Shawna have become best pals, and that it’s driving Smart crazy.

“Jen even tells Shawna intimate details about her relationship with Casper,” claims a so-called “source” for Star. “He hates that!”

And the magazine says it doesn’t stop there.

“Adding insult to injury, Jennifer has informed Casper that if they ever break up, she intends to stay friends with Shawna,” says Star.

The tab’s insider alleges, “It’s taken a lot for Casper to feel comfortable with the age gap between him and Jen, and her level of celebrity. The mom issue is a huge setback.”

What’s amazing is that Star still expects to have credibility after being SO wrong about Smart and Lopez over and over again.

A rep tells Gossip Cop the latest report is completely false.
