Carly Rae Jepsen to Make Her Broadway Debut in Cinderella Next Year

Carly Rae Jepsen will make her Broadway debut in Cinderella next year.

The singer will take on the title role for 12 weeks opposite Fran Drescher as the Evil Stepmother.

“Dream come true,” Jepsen tweeted after Sunday’s announcement.

The three-month stint begins on February 4.

Jepsen, who performed in musicals in high school and attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts, is also planning to release a new album next year.

It went badly.

The “Call Me Maybe” singer held on a little too long… and, well, the ball didn’t exactly cross home plate.

At least she seemed to have a good sense of humor about it.

Carly Rae Jepsen is sticking up for Justin Bieber.

Regarding the controversies that always seem to swirl around her touring pal and fellow Canadian, the “Call Me Maybe” singer tells Billboard, “I actually am so out of the loop on any of that, to be honest.”

“People are constantly, like, ‘Is Justin OK?’ I’ve not really noticed any of that,” explains Jepsen.

She continues, “I feel like Justin’s a guy who’s working hard every day, and I think the media can sometimes be a little brutal with stuff and over-exaggerate things. But I stand by him. I support him. I think he’s a good guy, and he’s doing the best he can.”
