Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel walked the red carpet together in matching tuxedo suits.

Ben Affleck on Batman Fan Backlash: “I’m a Big Boy” and Can Handle It (VIDEO)

Ben Affleck discussed the backlash to his casting as Batman on Monday’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

After an adorable conversation about their respective children, the actor-director told the host about his excitement for the Man of Steel sequel — despite many fans’ very vocal criticism.

Affleck told Fallon that producers anticipated a backlash and sent him some of the attacks on previous Batman-related castings to prepare him.

“I’m a big boy… I can handle any snub,” he joked, referring to this year’s Oscars.

But when Affleck actually did look at the first Internet reactions to the announcement… well, he wished he hadn’t.

Ben Affleck as Batman: Joss Whedon Defends Actor, Says He’ll “Crush It”

Ben Affleck was cast as the new Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel on Thursday, and so far, the Internet’s reaction has been far from positive.

Fans have complained on Twitter that Affleck is simply not right for the role, and the hashtag “#BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck” has been a trending topic since the news came out.

However, The Avengers director Joss Whedon thinks the actor has what it takes to play the Caped Crusader alongside Henry Cavill as Superman.

Whedon tweeted on Friday, “Affleck’ll crush it. He’s got the chops, he’s got the chin — just needs the material. Affleck & Cavill toe to toe — I’m in.”
