HTGAWM’s Billy Brown Dishes on Steamy Sex Scenes With Viola Davis: Watch

How to Get Away With Murder star Billy Brown sat down with HuffPost Live on Thursday, Nov. 12, to discuss working with his “amazing” costar Viola Davis on Season 2. The actor, who plays Nate Lahey, also dished on what it’s like to film those steamy sex scenes.

“[Viola] sets a tone as number one on the call sheet,” Brown said. “Not just with us actors, who collectively have less experience than she does, but with the crew as well.”

The actor explained that Davis “shows up ready to go” and always has her “game face on” as Annalise Keating.

“She shows up and you want to keep up with her,” he explained. “She’s first to admit if things aren’t flowing, so she’s comfortable in that way as well. She’s just easy with herself. You pick that vibe up and you want to show up prepared.”

As for those steamy sex scenes? Brown revealed that filming them isn’t as glamorous as it looks on-screen.

“There are so many people on set. There’s so many stops and interruptions and breaks,” he said. “It’s not about the kissing or the holding.”

Brown said that the TV crew often gets in the way, stopping the cameras from rolling for something as minor as a “wrinkle in the pillow.”

“All of a sudden, they’re micromanaging every move,” he said. “All you wanna do is make out with your costar and they’re getting in the way of it.”

Brown added, laughing, “The tongue is real. Just make it comfortable; grab the ass!”

Patricia Arquette Reflects on Being a Single Mom at 20, Discusses Wage Inequality: Watch

Girl power! In a new interview with HuffPost Live, Patricia Arquette reflected on what it was like to be a single mother at the age of 20. The actress also expanded upon her memorable 2015 Oscars speech, discussing women’s rights and the fight for wage equality.

“I was a single mom when I was 20,” Arquette shared. “And there were times when I didn’t know if I could buy [my son’s] diapers and [if] I could buy food.”

Today, she has two children — her son Enzo, now 26, and daughter Harlow, 12.

The 47-year-old actress revisited life as a single mom when she played Olivia Evans in Boyhood. Her critically acclaimed role in the 2014 film earned her the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Critics’ Choice Award, SAG Award, BAFTA Award, and Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress.

“I was winning that award for a character who predominantly raised her two kids and had to move them time and time again and put herself through school and be the primary breadwinner,” she said, adding, “I don’t know if anything will ever feel that intimate again.”

At the 2015 Oscars, Arquette pleaded for women’s rights during her acceptance speech, declaring, “To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all, and equal rights for women in the United States of America.”

The CSI: Cyber star elaborated to HuffPost Live that her speech was directed at “all women,” not just white women or the actresses in the audience.

“I don’t know why women are never a part of the conversation,” she said. “The women’s movement hasn’t moved at all and women are invisible in the whole thing.”

The advocate also explained, “The demographic has changed in America. Only 30 percent of families are living in the traditional ‘dad is the breadwinner, mom stays home’ model. Right now, we have 66 million women and children living in poverty. But half of those — 33 million people, one tenth of our country — would not be living in poverty if their moms were getting paid a full dollar.”

“We have one in five hungry kids in America, the richest nation on Earth,” Arquette said. “So the number one thing we could do at this moment for child poverty… would be to make sure that their moms get paid a full dollar.”

Khloe Kardashian: Lamar Odom Doesn’t Know What Caused His Brain Injury

Khloe Kardashian’s involvement with her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s October hospitalization has gotten plenty of media scrutiny, but, as the reality star told Ellen DeGeneres in a new interview, she’s fully aware of her complicated role in his recovery.

“I’m there helping him and I love him and I’ve always loved him,” Kardashian, 31, told DeGeneres in an interview set to air on Monday, Nov. 16. “And that will never change. And I just feel like it’s a really insensitive thing to fast-forward a divorce.”

In the days immediately following the former NBA star’s hospitalization in Nevada on Tuesday, Oct. 13, it was revealed that the couple, who first filed for divorce in December 2013, were, in fact, still married.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has been by his bedside both in Nevada and at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai hospital, where he was transferred to several days later, as he recovers.

The latest update, Kardashian shared, is that Odom, 36, is now relearning how to walk and feed himself.

“We tell him that he had a brain injury, but we can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, because that will set him back,” she explained. Odom was hospitalized on Oct. 13 after he was found unconscious at legal brothel Love Ranch South after mixing herbal Viagra, cocaine, and alcohol.

“He never asks why he’s here. He doesn’t ask,” Kardashian continued. “He’s really confused a lot — sometimes he knows who the president is and his birthday, and sometimes he thinks he’s 26, and I say I bet you wish you were 26, so do I!”

Despite the ups and downs, and what Kardashian calls a “long, long road ahead,” she said she is determined to help Odom through his recovery.

“I love him and I always will, and he’s a fantastic person who deserves support and love and for someone to be by his side, and for me, I’m that to him,” she continued. “And thank God I have a fantastic family who loves me and loves him just as much. And they’re so supportive and they’re with me and I have a great boyfriend who’s understanding.”

Kardashian was referring to Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden, whom she’s been dating for several months.

“Ya know, it’s definitely a very unique situation, to say the least,” the reality star admitted to DeGeneres. “Yeah, he’s [Harden] fine with it. I mean, we have to communicate a lot. And he’s really supportive and great.”
