Kanye West Lashes Out Against Jimmy Kimmel on Twitter Over Spoof

Kanye West Screengrab - H 2013

Kanye West is not happy with Jimmy Kimmel, and he’s letting his nine million followers know about it.

The rapper fired back against the late-night host early Thursday evening on Twitter, after Kimmel spoofed a recent interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, wherein West expressed his frustration with getting knocked down in the fashion world and declared himself the “biggest” rock star in the world.

That interview became a talking point in the Sept. 24 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Kimmel highlighted his “favorite” part of West’s interview, which he called “weird.” “Does Kanye West know he’s not supposed to be his own hype man?” Kimmel asked before showing a snippet of the chat featuring a rambling West.

Kimmel then showed a spoof featuring two kids in the West and Lowe roles — milkshakes in hand — via “Kimmel Kid (re)Kreation.”

Two days after the spoof aired, West began a Twitter tirade at 5:13 p.m. PT in response to Kimmel’s spoof, and the two began to engage in a biting feud that has been ongoing on Twitter.

And those leery of the West-Kimmel feud being fake following the “twerking fail” hoax? Kimmel addressed the speculation head-on, tweeting Thursday evening: “I’ll tell you the whole story about @kanyewest tonight on the show – this is not a prank, I promise (unless it’s being played on me).”
