Tom Hanks received a “Big” invitation from students at Kerman High School, near Fresno, California. The students are honoring the Oscar winner at its annual homecoming parade on October 9, and are hoping Hanks will attend.

“Our pie in the sky dream is to have him come and be the grand marshall of our parade,” assistant principal Margaret Nichols tells Gossip Cop. “We try to come up with a fun theme every year, and we thought Tom Hanks’ movies was a great theme…. Last year we chose board games (as a theme).”

Nichols says each class in grades nine through 12 will construct a float and a perform a short, two-minute skit based on one of the actor’s most iconic films. The senior class, with this year’s first pick, chose Forrest Gump. “I imagine the skits that will come out of these Tom Hanks movies are going to be pretty awesome,” Nichols tells Gossip Cop. She adds that the students “choreograph it, and do everything by themselves. They will perform the skits at the (homecoming) football game.”

Kerman, with a population 14,000, is a small farming community four hours north of Hanks’ home in Los Angeles. “We are a small, rural community, but we have great kids,” says Nichols. “That would be my pitch to him. Come and meet our kids.”

“It would just be awesome for him to acknowledge all the work these kids have done,” Nichols tells Gossip Cop. We reached out to Hanks’ camp to see whether he’ll take the students up on their offer. In the meantime, they have been creating banners (below), trying to coax the Hollywood star to Kerman for homecoming.

Kylie Jenner and Tyga have both been fined for wasting water during California’s historic drought. Just months after sister Kim Kardashian claimed she has “no problem letting her lawn go brown,” because of the need to conserve water, Jenner and her rapper boyfriend have both been busted by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District for ignoring water restrictions.

Jenner’s $2.6 million Calabasas home was one of 203 receiving violations in the past month. Tyga has also been singled out for using more than his daily allotment of water at the $10 million, 12,000-square-foot mansion he’s renting just a few block away. An investigation by KNBC in Los Angeles points out that Dr. Dre and Denise Richards have also been water wasters. Fines start at $100 and can can lead to termination of water service after a fifth citation.

Under the current drought, lawns are permitted to be watered only 15 minutes, twice a week. Enforcement is being overseen by a private security firm that was hired by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District.

David Hasselhoff also received a citation, though his rep said it was for watering on the wrong day of the week. So far, neither Jenner nor Tyga has commented on being fined for wasting water.

Charlie Sheen has had a change of heart about Donald Trump, and is now lobbying to be his running mate! The former “Two and a Half Men” star tweeted on Thursday that he’s interested in being Trump’s vice president. See his historic tweet below.

Sheen tweeted to his 11.5 million Twitter followers, “If Trump would hv me, I’d be his VP in a heartbeat.” The idea seemingly grew out of Owen Wilson comparing the two men in a Politico post on Tuesday in which he said of Trump, “Here’s somebody who’s not following that script,” adding, “It’s like when Charlie Sheen was doing that stuff — like, wow! He’s answering a question completely honestly, and in an entertaining way. You sort of feel he could be a character from Network.”

Sheen’s apparent endorsement of Trump comes just five weeks after the actor attacked the presidential candidate, calling him “a sad & silly homunclus,” and expressing, “your words [are] as poignant as a sack of cat farts… You’re a shame pile of idiocy.”

Trump has not responded to Sheen’s offer to be his vice president, but if the two are elected, Gossip Cop definitely wants to be at a Charlie Sheen-organized victory party. Of course, a Trump White House with Sheen as vice president means the Lincoln Bedroom will get quite a workout. Not to editorialize, but Trump should consider it. Sheen, of course, was born Carlos Estevez, and the GOP frontrunner could use a little help with the Latino vote.
