DMX is accused of robbing a New Jersey man at gunpoint at a gas station on Easter Sunday. The alleged incident happened at an Exxon station in Newark at around 12:30 a.m. An unidentified 21-year-old man told police he and the rapper were briefly talking about rap music when a member of DMX’s entourage allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money.

The victim said he took out of his pocket $3,200, which DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, supposedly grabbed. According to the New Jersey man, DMZ and the gunman jumped into one of four awaiting black Cadillac Escalades. The man said he trailed one of the SUVs, jotted down the license plate number, and then reported the crime to the police.

Sergeant Ronald Glover of the Newark police department said the investigation is still in the “early stages.” Before the alleged incident, DMX performed on Saturday night in Newark at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He later tweeted, “Jersey!!! Thank You!! For real Thank You!!” DMX has not commented on or referenced the alleged gas station  incident. Gossip Cop will continue to have updates.

(The Breakfast Club)

Kendrick Lamar is engaged! The 27-year-old rapper confirmed the news on Friday during an interview with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club.” Rumors first started circulating that Lamar had popped the question to his high school sweetheart, Whitney Alford, last month. Watch the video below.

When Lamar was asked if the engagement rumors were true, he responded, “Yeah, definitely. I’m loyal to the soil.” He added, “At the end of the day, you want to always have real people around you, period – whether male or female. Everybody that’s been around me has been around since day one and I can’t change that.”

However, back in January, the “Poetic Justice” rapper opened up a little bit about his lady love to Billboard. “I wouldn’t even call her my girl. That’s my best friend,” he said. “I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion. She’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”

Lamar’s engagement news comes just two days after he released the music video for his single “King Kunta,” which is featured on his new album To Pimp A Butterfly. Check out the video below of Lamar confirming his engagement, and tell us what you think.
