Joni Mitchell is NOT in a coma, according to her camp. Legal documents, however, suggest otherwise.

In a statement posted on Mitchell’s website on Tuesday evening, her team says, “Contrary to rumors circulating on the Internet today, Joni is not in a coma. Joni is still in the hospital – but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses. A full recovery is expected. The document obtained by a certain media outlet simply gives her longtime friend Leslie Morris the authority – in the absence of 24-hour doctor care – to make care decisions for Joni once she leaves the hospital. As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight. Please continue to keep Joni in your thoughts. You may add your well wishes for her at the website WeLoveYouJoni.com.”

The coma report originated with TMZ, which said that the 71-year-old singer, who was hospitalized on March 31 for an undisclosed health issue, was so sick now that she’s “incapable of being assessed.” The generally reliable site obtained legal documents, which the Associated Press also obtained, that said Morris had filed legal documents to serve as the folk singer’s guardian because Mitchell, who does not have any close relatives who could take over a conservatorship, was unconscious. The filing specifically reads, “At [this] time she remains unconscious and unable to make any responses, and is therefore unable to provide for any of her personal needs.”

A declaration from her doctor further said that Mitchell would likely be unable to appear in court for the next four to six months. The conservatorship would allow Morris to make medical decisions, but not have any control over the star’s finances. It is not clear why the legal papers suggest a very different picture than the statement from Mitchell’s camp.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Mitchell was rushed to UCLA Medical Center almost four weeks ago after she was found unconscious in her Los Angeles home. A 911 call was placed from the residence during which the caller said Mitchell was unresponsive, but by the time paramedics arrived she had regained consciousness. The singer, best known for such songs as “Big Yellow Taxi, “Woodstock,” and “Both Sides Now,” was last seen in public in February at the Pre-Grammy Gala and Salute to Industry Icons. Bruce Jenner’s new female name will NOT be “Heather,” despite reports. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this rumor. Jenner’s rep tells Gossip Cop exclusively there’s absolutely no truth to it.

A number of media outlets are speculating that Jenner may go by the name “Heather” once he makes his transition to a woman. The inaccurate reports stem from an essay Jenner’s ex-wife Linda Thompson wrote following his Diane Sawyer interview. In Thompson’s piece, she recalled a time many years ago when Jenner was considering “traveling out of the country to have gender-confirmation surgery.” Thompson said she asked Jenner what they would tell their sons Brandon and Brody, and the former Olympian suggested that he could possibly “reenter their lives as ‘Aunt Heather.’”

Many outlets quickly singled out Thompson’s quote and built false stories around it. “Linda may have accidentally revealed” Jenner’s new name, wrote the often unreliable HollywoodLife. And VH1’s woefully inaccurate show “Gossip Table” then manufactured a supposed “source” disclosing to its ill-informed panelists that Jenner will “reemerge as Heather.”

As Gossip Cop previously reported, there have been a number of untrue stories about the former athlete’s new female name. Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted a report claiming Jenner wanted to change his name to Belinda. Now, we’re told there is absolutely no truth to reports that he wants to be called Heather. A rep for Jenner tells Gossip Cop exclusively that talk about Jenner going by the name of Heather is completely “WRONG.”

Khloe Kardashian did NOT tell Lamar Odom that Robert Kardashian wasn’t her “real father,” despite a new report. Gossip Cop can once again bust this long-rumored tall-tale. A source confirms to us that the latest claim is similarly “100 percent false!”

According to RadarOnline, Khloe recently confided in her estranged husband that Robert Kardashian wasn’t her real dad. The webloid doesn’t say who Khloe thinks is her actual father, but teased that she’s going to meet this mystery man on the finale of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

Unfortunately, Khloe has dealt with these rumors for years. In the past, it’s been wrongly speculated that O.J. Simpson was Khloe’s father, and there were also erroneous reports that Kris Jenner’s longtime hairdresser, Alex Roldan, was her dad. Last year, Khloe exclusively told Gossip Cop, “I’ve had so many dads my head is spinning lol.” She even joked on “Chelsea Lately” that she hoped Simpson was not the father “because I did f*ck him once.”

Much like other paternity stories involving Khloe, RadarOnline’s story in wrong. A source close to Khloe tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the webloid’s claim about her meeting her real father on the finale of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” in complete “BS” and “100 percent false.”
