Bravo revealed on Wednesday that Potomac, Maryland will be next location for its “Real Housewives” franchise. According to the network, the newest series will premier in January 2016, and will star “wealthy African-American families who have broken racial barriers and now reside in the sophisticated community.” Watch the first trailer below.
“The Real Housewives” series began in Orange County back in 2006, and has spread to New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, D.C., Beverly Hills, and Miami. Potomac marks the eighth location, and the 40th season of the franchise.
The official synopsis of the series describes Potomac as an idyllic town with “rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools, and exclusive country clubs.” And this particular installment promises to provide an inside look at the lives of “wealthy African-American families who have historically broken racial barriers to provide a life of privilege for their children.”
The Potomac series will star “socialite and single mom Gizelle Bryant, international model and TV personality Katie Rost, grand dame Karen Huger, social butterfly Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, publicist and single mom Robyn Dixon, as well as restaurateur Ashley Darby.” As with any “Real Housewives” series, drama is guaranteed, with Bravo posing the question, “In a town where entry is granted only through class, pedigree, and lineage, how far will these ladies go to secure their spot at the top of this prestigious circle?”
