Conan O'Brien Hair - H 2014

Conan O’Brien didn’t take anything seriously when he hosted the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, and his recap of the big night on Monday’s episode of TBS’ Conan was just as spectacular.

“I almost wasn’t ready for the show. I made it but it was really close,” revealed the talk show host, who had landed cameos from 50 stars — from Russell Crowe and Demi Moore to Anthony Hopkins and Martin Scorsese — for the awards the night before.

The camera then flipped to Conan’s dressing room, showing him sticking an American Hustle-style hair piece across his head with meticulous detail — clipping it in some parts and taping it in others — and finally resorting to orange patches of fur to cover up bald spots.

“I told you I’m fine,” he screeched at an assistant asking if he was ready yet. “I’ll be out in a minute, don’t come in!” he said, before plunging his head into a microwave to achieve his ultimate crowning glory.

Later on the show, O’Brien welcomed guest Mindy Kaling, who revealed that her secret to surviving dreaded gym sessions is to pretend that she is in training for an exciting action movie.

“I’ll imagine Michael Fassbender was my husband… now I have to go down to Brazil to find who killed my him,” she said, of her fitness fantasies. “I find that when I tell people this they try it and it works for them. It gets me going.”

Guest Colin Hanks said that what really got him going on the red carpet at a past award show was having to share the spotlight with George Clooney. “In comes Clooney, and he comes to the front of the lunch line. He was just so tanned. It was like an atom bomb of light went off,” joked the Fargo star in admiration.

Over on CBS, Craig Ferguson welcomed Dominic Monaghan onto the Late Late Show, where he revealed that everyone is quizzing him about the missing Malaysia Airlines plane, asking: “Do you think it’s a real Lost type scenario? I did say I’d go out and have a look for it, but I couldn’t find it…. The ocean is big,” he said.

Brooklyn Decker admitted that she doesn’t take tennis lessons from husband and star player, Andy Roddick because “I will always be the worst tennis player in the house.” Rather than letting her win, “when you’re married to an athlete, that’s not even in their vocabulary.

“It’s a ‘pick your battle’ type situation, and to be fair — he has tried and I ended up breaking the racket.”

It seems that you can ask Johnny Depp almost anything and he will give an interesting answer.

Ellen DeGeneres put that to the test on Friday when she challenged him to a game of “True or False,” and was highly amused by his replies.

With a sleek blonde bowl cut, a guitar slung around his neck and mood-inducing soft focus camera work, Fallon perfectly looked the part as he strummed along to “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Nicks.

After making fun of his wig, guest Jennifer Garner dished on husband Ben Affleck‘s parenting skills — saying he doesn’t perform “anything that has to do with actual [family] functioning” — and revealed that her upcoming NFL film Draft Day is “a little bit of a chick flick to be honest.”

Fellow Draft Day star Denis Leary went on Late Night, but instead of football, he wanted to talked baseball with fellow Red Sox fan, Seth Meyers. Dressed in a Sox jacket, he recalled a scary incident trying to escape from Fenway Park surrounded by drunk fans after the team won the World Series last year.

Over on CBS, Sharon Osbourne was a guest on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, where she told the Scottish host about a very odd meeting with the Queen of England’s husband, Prince Philip. “He is so grumpy, it’s unbelievable!” she screeched. “Miserable old sod! He should be called ‘Your Grumpiness.'”

On ABC, viewers learned that Kate Upton‘s 21st birthday last year wasn’t quite as glamorous as one might expect for a super model. “I hung out with my uncle at a Republican convention,” Upton said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (Upton’s uncle is Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan).
