After introducing one contestant to his parents, Ben sends his date packing in front of the other women.

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from Season 20 of ABC’s The Bachelor.]

After an uncomfortable episode last week — where the women survived wild, ocean pigs and Olivia’s exit was so dramatic, she took to Instagram to defend herself from haters — The Bachelor took a refreshing turn. This week, Ben Higgins introduced the six remaining women to his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana.

The episode kicked off with a cute reunion between Ben and his parents (which made him that much more attractive as a family man). With a giddy tone, Ben explained to his mom and dad what each woman meant to him; he said he is more himself with JoJo than with anyone else, described Becca as standoffish, felt that Emily might be too young for marriage, failed to explain the complexities of Caila, broke the news that Amanda has two children and floated on a cloud as he shared that his chemistry with Lauren is something “you can’t even explain.”

First One-On-One: Ben Gets in Dad-Mode and Shoots Hoops with a Professional Basketball Player

After his little family huddle, it is not much of a surprise that Ben took Lauren on the first one-on-one date — and it quickly got personal. After driving past the high school where Ben was the quarterback football star, he brought the blonde flight attendant from Marina Del Rey, Clif., to the Baker Youth Club, where Ben worked with children for four years.

Lauren (and viewers alike, who cannot help crushing on Ben) were treated to seeing the bachelor in “dad-mode,” as he played with the kids and was literally a shoulder to cry on to one little boy who started tearing up in a corner. But the real surprise came when basketball player George Hill of the Indiana Pacers and Coach Frank Vogel showed up to shoot some hoops with the kids.

Later, Lauren was the lucky woman to meet Ben’s best friends from home, and Ben could not have looked happier to have her on his arm. Their special time together ended with a deep conversation, in which the two talked out Leah’s horrible lie last week (about Lauren being a different person with Ben than she is with the other women). Lauren left the evening, confidently saying, “I’m falling in love with Ben from Warsaw, Indiana.”

Second One-On-One: JoJo and Ben Escape to the Windy City for a Dinner Date on Wrigley Field

After smooching with Lauren in Warsaw, Ben stole JoJo away to Chicago for a dream-like date on Wrigley Field. As a serious Chicago Cubs fan, Ben was in heaven as he and JoJo played a game for two and rounded the bases, with the entire stadium to themselves. The cutest part of all? The two enjoyed America’s favorite pasttime while wearing matching Mr. and Mrs. Higgins uniforms. (Could this be a sign?)

Somehow dinner on a table for two magically appeared on the field (just go with it) and things got real when JoJo brought up again how she was feeling scared to get vulnerable. You would think Ben would have had it by now with her insecurities, especially when he brought up his concerns of asking a girl at the end of the show to marry him and being nervous about her answer. But he shook it off with that cute dimpled smile of his and they ended the date on a high note, sharing a kiss inside the stadium’s score board.

Group Date: Oh So Awkward Again, Ben Gives out the First Hometown Rose

Finally, it was time for the dreadful group date, where the pressure was on between Becca, Caila and Amanda to snag the group date rose. This time around, the rose meant far more than just being safe for another rose ceremony. It meant Ben was ready to meet the woman’s family, since next week the four remaining girls will show Ben around their hometowns.

After boat rides on the lake and flying kites together, Ben pulled each woman aside for a little chat. In Becca’s alone time, she expressed deep feelings for Ben, but things got very awkward when she told him, “I really like you,” and he gave no validation in return. She looked him straight in the eye and said, “Don’t blind side me.”

Ultimately, Ben made it clear he is ready to see Amanda in “mom-mode,” as he gave the group date rose to the mother of two. Becca’s reaction? Her most emotional moment yet. She cried saying, “Why would someone want to keep putting themselves out there for someone who gives nothing in return? …I’m just like what am I doing? Why am I here, you know?” (Oh, Becca. Don’t act like this is your first rodeo.)

With the group date rose in hand, Amanda left with Ben for a surprise one-on-one date. But can you even call it a date? Ben took her out to dinner to…McDonalds. After munching on egg McMuffins, they literally went behind the counter to hand out drive-thru orders. (What?!) The most cringe-worthy moment had to be when Amanda and Ben pulled a Lady and the Tramp, eating their way through a French frie before stealing a kiss. Luckily for Amanda, Ben finally showed some real romance by taking her to a street carnival. She tolerated Ben screaming for dear life on a rollercoaster and kissed him on the Ferris wheel.

The Last One-On-One: Ben Introduces the First Woman to His Parents

Emily was the lucky lady to first meet Ben’s mom and dad. She was so happy when she got the one-on-one date card that she actually bawled on the spot. But unfortunately for her, Ben’s mom was really not feeling the Vegas twin. When Ben pulled his mother aside for her raw and real opinion about the 22-year-old, Mrs. Higgins anxiously questioned if Emily was ready to be a wife and literally broke down in tears. (Ouch.)

Maybe it had to do with Emily telling Ben’s mom about her aspirations to be a professional cheerleader, potentially for the Denver Broncos. Did you know Emily and her twin Haley chased this dream all the way to a cheerleading reality series? After not receiving much support from his parents about his relationship with Emily, Ben decided to call it quits. For whatever reason he thought it was a good idea to break up with Emily in the backyard of where the women were staying … but all the girls watched through the window as he said goodbye! A tearful Emily came running into the house and cried as she gave the women a play by play of what went down.

The Rose Ceremony: Ben Narrows It Down to Four

Finally, it was time for the rose ceremony, where Ben said goodbye to Becca. The chiropractic assistant from San Diego, Clif., was pretty pissed at her crush, aggressively asking, “Why did you do that?” After a very long journey, Becca’s Round 2 on The Bachelor ended with another tearful limo ride.

Was it wrong of Ben to string Becca along, after she told him not to blind side her? Were you ready to see Emily go home? Share what you think below in the comments.

‘The Bachelor’: Ben Sends One Woman Packing for Not Holding His Hand

February 01, 2016 8:32pm PT by Christina Schoellkopf

On the group date in Mexico City, Ben gets rejected in front of the group when he tries to hold one contestant's hand.  The Bachelor/ABC

On the group date in Mexico City, Ben gets rejected in front of the group when he tries to hold one contestant’s hand.

Viva la Mexico — and viva The Bachelor! Ben Higgins and the 11 remaining ladies traveled to Mexico City for their latest action-packed week.

Since this season clearly revolves around “Oh-livia,” her comment to Amanda must be addressed first.

Amanda — for those who are not Bachelor diehards — is the sweet mother of two from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. Olivia could not help opening her big mouth, per usual (she’s even acknowledged this idiosyncrasy via her personal Twitter), and made the rudest comment, straight to the divorcee’s face. Upon hearing Amanda talk about her ex picking up the kids, Olivia blurted out, “I feel like it’s an episode of Teen Mom that I watch. It freaks me out.”

Luckily, Amanda stood up for herself and called out the Queen Diva for her lack of decency and “common sense.”

Now, to back it up, this Amanda vs. Olivia drama seemed to start brewing at the beginning of the episode when Amanda landed the first one-on-one date of the week. Did you catch the incredibly fake smile Olivia flashed A?

But maybe you can’t blame Olivia for being a little bit jealous. Ben made sure he could spend as much time as possible with Amanda, by waking her up before the crack of dawn. At 4:20 a.m., Ben surprised the women in their hotel rooms to steal his date for the day and clearly to catch the ladies off guard — retainers, zip cream and all!

Ben took Amanda on an adventurous hot air balloon ride that was nothing short of a dream come true. The 25-year-old esthetician scored a rose at the end of the night, after opening up about her dark past. She shared that she got married when her oldest daughter was 6 months old and that she was cheated on after getting pregnant with her second child.

After a pretty serious one-on-one, Ben planned a light-hearted group date, in which he took the women back to school for a Spanish language class. But Jubilee could not help pouting and complaining until it escalated to the point of no return. The war veteran gave Ben major side-eye when he told her in Spanish, “I want to kiss you” and “I love you.” (Um … while just about anyone else would have been completely swooning!)

Then, the drama really heated up, when the date moved to the kitchen. Ben and the ladies partnered off for a cooking contest, and Olivia snagged Ben for herself (of course) to be her partner. By some miracle, Ben reconnected with her and gave Olivia the group-date rose. (But rumor has it, Ben could not handle her self-proclaimed “dragon breath” and encouraged her to snack on some mint.)

While Olivia was making a comeback, Jubilee was digging her own grave. Ben tried to kindly take her hand, and she rejected him in front of everyone. Ben basically reached a breaking point, called her out and let her go.

Ben gave the second one-on-one date to Lauren H., the kindergarten teacher from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and he had quite the surprise in store. The two of them became professional models (for a day) as they walked the runway in Mexico’s Fashion Week. It’s possible Lauren H. is slowly breaking the friend zone, since the night ended with a kiss and a red rose to top off their great time.

Jubilee was the only woman to say goodbye to Ben this week, but trouble is cooking up for Olivia. Emily, the twin who recently left her better-half at home in Las Vegas, had finally had it with the Texan news anchor and was the first to tell Ben who he was really dealing with.

In honor of Em having the courage to take on Olivia, the “bully,” here are her best quotes of the night:

“[Olivia] makes me want to like punch her in the face a little. Adios, Olivia.”

“She literally makes me want to throw up and her breath is horrible.”

“I can’t even look at her.”

“I hate Olivia. It’s okay to say that, like she’s a bully.”

Was it smart for Emily to tell Ben the truth about Olivia? Were you sorry to see Jubilee go or were you ready for her to get the boot? Do you think Amanda is a good fit for Ben? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

‘The Bachelor’: Ben Gets Down on One Knee, Olivia’s Strip Tease Leads to Panic Attack

January 25, 2016 8:06pm PT by Christina Schoellkopf

After participating in a talent show for an audience of about 1,200 people, one 'Bachelor' contestant hyperventilated on camera and experienced a panic attack. Olivia grabs all the attention  YouTube screengrab

After participating in a talent show for an audience of about 1,200 people, one ‘Bachelor’ contestant hyperventilated on camera and experienced a panic attack.

Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor can be summed up by one word: “Oh-livia”!

The contestant from Austin, Texas was front and center this episode. From start to finish, Olivia could not help adding drama to the show, which took place this week in Las Vegas.

Olivia’s Pep Talk

When the show began, Olivia started telling herself whatever she could to feel more confident in her relationship with Bachelor Ben Higgins. Her comments quickly became incredibly ironic as the show progressed:

“I’m not threatened by anyone who goes on a one-on-one date with Ben. Ben is my peace. I’m Zen with Ben.”

“I still believe that Ben and I have the strongest relationship.”

“I feel so good about about what we have. So good.”

Ben’s One-on-One Date with JoJo

When Ben stole JoJo for some alone time, Olivia had her first gut-wrenching experience. Through the women’s hotel window, Olivia saw Ben kiss the other Texan (JoJo is from Dallas) and she started to lose her cool: “I think he’s my husband, and now I feel like I’ve been cheated on.”

The Cringe-Worthy Group Date

As Caila put it, Olivia started “digging her own grave” on the group date. Ben made the girls show off their skills in a talent show. No pressure—it just happened to be in front of about 1,200 people, as the opener for Terry Fator’s ventriloquist show.

In the spirit of Sin City, Olivia decided to jump out of a cake in red lingerie to give Ben a strip tease as her “talent.” It might have scarred him for life. The performance somehow was so painful to watch, yet still impossible to look away! See for yourself:

Afterwards, even she knew it was a potential deal breaker. Olivia broke down into a full-on panic attack. (Also, don’t you love that she said, “I don’t want to be on camera”? News flash to the news anchor: you signed up for one of the most popular reality TV shows out there. Get used to it.)

The other women on the show had little to no sympathy for Olivia’s tearful moment. Emily went so far as to say, “I definitely think she’s full of s—.”

But Olivia’s fellow Bachelor contestants are not the only ones buzzing about her business. In case you have been under a rock in regards to Bachelor gossip, may THR be the first to introduce you to the Internet’s obsession with Olivia’s … mouth. There are more than a dozen real Twitter handles devoted to highlighting her over-the-top facial expressions (@BachelorOlivia has 18.6K followers and counting!) and even ABC can not resist showcasing this quirk of hers:

Before we get to the moment of truth—the rose ceremony, of course—here are a few other highlights from this week’s episode:

Ben took Becca on a very strange one-on-one date. He gave her a wedding dress to wear, and as soon as they saw each other, Ben got down on one knee! Becca started freaking out. (You probably started freaking out!) But Ben stayed calm because … it was a false alarm. He just wanted to tell her in a dramatic way that they would be spending their date marrying other couples in a Vegas chapel. (Not very cool to toy with Becca’s emotions, Ben!)

Hours before the rose ceremony, Chris surprised the girls to share that Ben would take twins Emily and Haley on a twin-on-one date. The three of them headed to the twins’ home (they’re from Vegas) and Ben got to know their dogs, their mom and Haley’s ex-boyfriend? Ben and Haley stepped into her bedroom to find not one, but two framed pictures of Haley and her ex. It definitely left a funny taste in Ben’s mouth, because after a pow-wow with their mom and a solid chat with Emily, he sent Haley home (tearing apart their freaky twin-ship).

Finally, it was time for the rose ceremony. Would Olivia be going home? Had Ben had enough of her drama?

Some might question Ben’s sanity at this point in the season, because he did in fact give Olivia a rose. The other ladies to go home this week were Amber (who almost immediately kicked off her heels and started bawling into a lounge chair after the rejection) and Rachel (who, frankly, had barely received enough TV time for fans to remember her name).

Do you think it is time for Olivia to get the boot? Do you think Ben chose the right twin to continue dating? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
