Andrew McCarthy Nabs Four Big TV Directing Gigs

Former Brat Pack star Andrew McCarthy is on a directing hot streak.

The prolific director has just booked four new gigs for Netflix, Amazon, The CW and ABC.

McCarthy will direct episodes five and seven of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black's second season; episode 10 of Amazon's first scripted series Alpha House, the sophomore finale of The CW's The Carrie Diaries and episode five of ABC's upcoming limited series The Black Box.

The move comes as McCarthy has made a career behind the camera in recent years, directing multiple episodes of Gossip Girl, White Collar andLipstick Jungle. The National Geographic Traveler editor-at-large has also written for multiple publications including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and countless others. His acting credits include Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, Less Than Zero and Weekend at Bernies, among scores more. His memoir, The Longest Way Home, was published in September 2012.
