Josh Hutcherson tells Glamour about his friendship with Catching Fire co-star Jennifer Lawrence, and how it’s “absolutely” possible for men and women to be platonic friends.
The actor says that he and Lawrence “were nervous about our new co-stars because we’re kind of crazy when we’re together, so it can be a little scary for the new people. But everybody jumped right in. It was a fun vibe on set.”
Asked whether it’s “weird having to switch to romantic relationship on-screen” with Lawrence, Hutcherson tells the magazine, “It is. There are times when we’ve had to cut because we can’t get through a take without laughing.”
When Glamour wonders whether it’s possible for him to be “just friends” with a woman, Hutcherson responds, “Absolutely, but there’s often a natural inclination to want more.”
Hutcherson met his girlfriend, actress Claudia Traisac, while filming a movie.
In terms of dating someone in show business, he explains, “As far as I’m concerned, you’re both actors, you understand each other’s lifestyle, so it’s a very natural thing to have happen.”
Not that he’s always been the ideal romantic.
“The girls I’ve dated hate me a little because I can’t remember anything about first dates or when we kissed,” says Hutcherson. “I have the worst memory in the world!”
