"Tattoo Nightmares"
Spike TV is continuing its commitment to tattoo programming.
The cable network has renewed Ink Master for a fourth season and Tattoo Nightmares for a third season, it was announced Monday.
Tattoo competition series Ink Master, hosted by Dave Navarro, will return for a 13-episode season, while Tattoo Nightmares, executive produced by Jersey Shore's SallyAnn Salsano, will kick off a 26-episode run. Both series are set to return in 2014.
The most recent season of Ink Master, with two episodes left, is pacing to be its most-watched, averaging 2.1 million viewers and has improved the time slot among adults 18-34 and 18-49 significantly. The series is produced by Original Media with Charlie Corwin and Andrea Richter as executive producers.
The 495 Productions-produced Tattoo Nightmares is averaging 1.2 million viewers, improving its time period among adults 18-49 as well. Salsano is an EP along with Joel Zimmer.
“Ink Master and Tattoo Nightmares have been great performers for Spike TV and have helped propel the network to its highest rated quarter with adults in four years,” said Sharon Levy, executive vp original series at Spike TV. “These two series showcase tattooing as the incredible art form it has evolved into and are emblematic of Spike’s new direction as we’re appealing to a broader audience with compelling original programming.”
In the third quarter, Spike has seen its highest primetime ratings among adults 18-49 in four years, up 26 percent in the demo in primetime.
