Anthony Zuiker Developing Vengeance Drama at ABC

ABC may be out for more Revenge. Anthony E. Zuiker's Dare to Pass has sold a drama project to ABC about a grieving woman on a similar path as the lead of its Sunday soap.

The Bounty, written by South Beach creator Matt Cirulnick, centers on a woman who prompts a national frenzy when she sets the largest bounty in history for the capture of her family's killer. Zuiker, who has an overall deal with ABC Studios, developed the project with Brillstein Entertainment Partners. (Brillstein also has an overall deal with ABC Studios.) The trio will co-produce the project, with Brillstein TV’s Margaret Riley, David McIlvain and Robin Schwartz and Dare to Pass' Matthew Weinberg also serving as producers. Zuiker and Cirulnick will serve as executive producers.

“The Bounty takes such a fresh approach to the crime show genre by combining the universal theme that we all want justice for the victim with how crowdsourcing plays a very important role in helping law enforcement today,” said Zuiker. “Matt Cirulnick is writing a script that is both so emotional and so relevant, that I could not be more pleased to be working together.”

Zuiker’s first scripted reality series, Whodunnit?, recently wrapped its first season on ABC. There has been no word on a renewal, though the series performed modestly in its summer Sunday time slot.

Both Zuiker and Cirulnick are repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
