Jacki Weaver Heads to Rebel Wilson Starrer ‘Super Fun Night’

ABC's Super Fun Night is adding an Oscar winner to its ranks.

Two-time Academy Award winner Jacki Weaver has booked a guest turn on the Rebel Wilson freshman comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The comedy revolves around three nerdy female friends, including Pitch Perfect's Wilson, on a "funcomfortable" quest to have "super fun" every Friday night.

Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom) will play Pamela Boubier, overbearing mother to Wilson's Kimmie in an upcoming episode of the series. The character is in town for the engagement party of her other daughter, Jazmine (guest star Ashley Tisdale). A former Broadway showgirl who still carries herself as if she's about to go on stage at any moment, Pamela comes to town and instantaneously throws Kimmie’s life into chaos as she can’t help but pry into her daughter’s work and social life.

"When I was at university, as part of my theater major, I would go and watch Jacki perform in these amazing plays in Sydney. She's an inspiration to me and an Australian classic," Wilson said. "She can be funny and real and super dramatic … often all at the same time. My real mother is going to be so impressed to find out Jacki is playing my mother. I know my sisters are fighting over which of them Ashley Tisdale is playing. I can't wait to get on set with all these lovely ladies and crush it!"

Weaver most recently starred in CBS' comedy pilot The McCarthys and will reprise her role for the redeveloped pilot. In addition to her nom for playing the mother in a sports-crazed family in Silver Linings, Weaver also earned a supporting actress mention for her role in 2010's Animal Kingdom. She's repped by ICM Partners, Elevate and Felker Toczek.

Super Fun Night premieres Oct. 2 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
